Our Student Leadership Team, are passionate about supporting our community and making meaningful change.
In 2023, they have decided to join forces as a community and show commitment to walking in solidarity with Wellsprings for Women, a Kildare Ministries Community Work.
Dr. Dalal Smiley, CEO of Wellsprings for Women says, "Wellsprings for Women, is an Australian charity that provides support and services to women who are experiencing various challenges, including social isolation, poverty, domestic violence, homelessness, and mental health issues. They offer a safe and welcoming space where women can access programs and services designed to empower them and improve their quality of life."
Across Term 3, our Student Leadership Team are hosting initiatives known collectively as 'Ignite' raise awareness of Wellsprings for Women and help women in need within the community,
Every student at Kildare will have the opportunity to make a lantern to form a collective artwork in the shape of the Wellsprings for Women logo to ignite awareness and commitment to their worthy cause. The lantern is a symbol that often represents light, guidance, and illumination, both literally and metaphorically. It can signify hope, knowledge, wisdom, or ignite a path forward through darkness. It is also connected to Nano Nagle, known for her courageous actions in travelling with a lantern to help those in need.
Every student will also have the opportunity to write a Positive Affirmation Card, which will be sent to Wellsprings for Women.
Through these initiatives and donations, the Student Leadership Team hope to support those vulnerable in our community. They also hope to inspire you to create change for causes you are passionate about.
We warmly invite and welcome donations towards Ignite for Wellsprings for Women, via the fundraising page.
