Welcome to Term 3 and what a start it has been! It wasn't quite the way we were expecting to start the term.
Once again, we would like to thank you for your incredible cooperation as we navigated online learning last week. Our students showed us again, how resilient they are with all that is expected of them. We are very proud of them, and we sincerely thank you for your on going guidance and support with your daughter's learning.
On a different note, we are absolutely delighted to announce that our new building project has commenced:
Introducing Our Tullow Centre (Innovation Hub)
Since 1966 when the Brigidine Sisters arrived in Adelaide and laid the first foundations for Kildare, the focus has always been on the academic and wellbeing needs of our students. History has shown us that the first Brigidine Sisters were risk-takers, resilient and demonstrated that by being creative, innovative and brave (and continue to be) anything is possible. In 1807, six women in response to an invitation from Daniel Delany, established the Brigidine Sisters in Tullow, Ireland.
Hence, we are delighted to announce that our innovation hub will be named the Tullow Centre, in honour of these determined and courageous women.
Purpose and Opportunity | Tullow Centre Design
The Tullow Centre will allow our students to enter a new world that challenges the stereotype of a female learner. It will be a space that inspires creativity, construction and innovation.
The Tullow Centre will provide our existing and future students with a point of difference from other schools.
The building will include the following:
- Large construction area to house Woodwork and Metalwork in an all-girls’ environment.
- High-end STEM, Science and Digital Technology rooms
- Media Studio with green screen and soundproof booths
- Auditorium for presentations and break out study spaces
- 3 General Classrooms to cater for expanding student enrolments.
- First Floor Terrace connected to the classrooms
- Conference Room
- The facade itself will encapsulate innovation, which will feature a canopy constructed of glass solar panels linked to a digital information screen within the Lobby space. This will enable students to see energy production in action and experience innovation from the moment they enter the Tullow Centre.
Tullow Centre Architects and Builders | Walter Brooke Architects and Sarah Constructions
Over the past year, we have been working with Walter Brooke Architects developing this incredible new state of art innovation hub. We are also delighted to announce that Sarah Constructions have been engaged to construct the building.
Walter Brooke and Sarah Constructions also designed and built our award-winning Brigidine Centre.
Schedule | Timeline for the project
The Tullow Centre will be ready for full occupancy in mid-2022.
It is with great anticipation and excitement for our College community, that the Tullow Centre will enhance creative learning in an interactive space, which is truly reflective of society's modern, divergent, flexible and dynamic thinking.
We will keep you posted along the way as we build this incredible new innovation hub for our College community.
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes always
