What a wonderful Term 3!
It is hard to believe that Term 3 is nearly over. We have had another beautiful term and feel blessed to have been able to celebrate our incredible events, even with all the constant COVID-19 uncertainty. Our students have continued to demonstrate great strength, resilience and gentleness with all that we do, whilst wearing their masks with great dignity.
Brigidine Day
This year our Brigidine Day was once again blessed with perfect weather. It was wonderful to be able to gather as a College community. Father Mathew led our Mass sharing how St Brigid was a wonderful role model for us all, always depicting strength, courage, and bravery. He emphasised how kindness can be distributed in big and small ways and all acts of kindness can influence our mental wellbeing, which coincided with R U OK Day.
Following our Mass, students and staff were engaged in a range of activities, including House Spirit games and our very own K-Factor. It was an absolute pleasure watching our students and staff entertain the community with their diverse talents. The day was just glorious and it depicted the wonderful comradery and great sense of connectedness that exists in girls' schools and especially at Kildare.
Tullow Centre
If you have been at Kildare recently, you would have seen that the Drama Centre has been demolished and we are now preparing the foundations for our new building – Tullow Centre. It has been fascinating to watch what is happening with the students. There is a vantage point near the Art rooms that is providing an excellent view of the progress that is occurring each day.
Performances
Mixtape 80s Dance Night
Our incredible student dancers performed at Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute. The dancers and routines were sensational - full of vibrancy, colour and superb choreography.
Congratulations to all and many special thanks to Sue Nairn, Julia Horne and all who have supported them.
Live at Kildare – A Tribute to the 70s – Music
With the current restrictions still in place, our Live at the Gov was transferred to Live at Kildare and we were treated to phenomenal music performances. The diversity, musical talent and music choices were once again wonderful to listen to and enjoy Every song brought back lots of incredible memories! Congratulations to all and many special thanks to Russell McGlone, Hannah King, Andrew Crosby and all who have supported them.
Year 11 and 12 Drama Production – I’m not Henry Lawson’s Mother
Our Year 11 and 12 Drama students' portrayal of - I’m not Henry Lawson’s Mother - was mesmerizing, intriguing and beautifully performed. It truly was another fabulous production to watch. Thank you to Carolina Salvo, Shaun Castles, Rebecca Sarvas and all who supported them.
It is so wonderful to be able to have the performances, especially during these strange times. I am a very proud Principal, and our students are simply amazing.
