Dear Kildare Families
Welcome to 2021 and to the Year of Wonder. Every year we focus on one of our six core values. The core value for 2021 is Wonder – Celebrating all that is good with joy and gratitude. And don’t we have so much to be grateful for living in Adelaide during a pandemic!
We are super excited for 2021, and we have been busy behind the scenes preparing and creating innovative programs for our students. We have many incredible projects planned, including finalising the plans for our new Innovation Hub, which will provide a space that will continue to inspire students‘ creativity, construction and innovation. More information will be provided in the coming months.
Commencing a new school year always brings many exciting experiences. We are pleased with the way our Year 7 and new Year 8 students are embracing their new routines and are adapting well to the expectations placed upon them. Our existing Year 8 and 9 students have returned to school with great enthusiasm and are already demonstrating a great love of learning, while our senior students are putting into practice the importance of being positive role models in our College community.
2020 Year 12 Results – 100% SACE Completion
We were absolutely delighted with the 2020 Year 12 SACE Results. Our Year 12 students demonstrated commitment, resilience, and a determined attitude achieving success with 100% SACE completion in a year that held so much uncertainty. 22% of students achieved an ATAR of 90 or over with Grace Builder as our DUX with a Univeristy Entrance Score of 99.95. We are so very proud of all our students.
New Staff Members to Kildare College
This year we welcome 657 students across all year levels and 11 new staff members to our College Community.

Facilities Update
We would also like to acknowledge and thank Lil Mader, our Business Manager, Brett Selga and Shane Dix, our Maintenance staff who have worked tirelessly over the holidays managing and improving different areas of the College. Some of the areas include the following:
New Fencing
You may have noticed that we have started to replace the existing fence with a new fence. This has been long overdue, and we are very much looking forward to completing this project over the next few weeks. The fence will improve the overall grounds as well as increase the security of the College.
The Square – Our new transportable
In preparation for our Innovation Hub, a new transportable was delivered during the holidays and placed adjacent to Valiant Road. The transportable, named ‘The Square’ (thinking outside the square) will be our new Drama room whilst building our new facilities.
New Garden and path
The gardeners have truly transformed the area between the Kildare and Chanel buildings. The ‘magical’ path leads to our beautiful Brigidine Centre.
Canteen
Our canteen has been freshly painted and fitted out with new equipment ready for our new provider - Rory’s School Lunches.
Kitchenette in the Resource Centre
At the end of last year, the Year 12 students wrote expressing reasons why they would like a dedicated area where they can study and collaborate. Hence, we have placed a stylish kitchenette in the Resource Centre for our Year 12 students to use.
Woodwork Facilities - Classroom 16
This year we have 18 students in Years 11 and 12 studying woodwork at Kildare. Room 16 has been set up as an interim woodwork room with all new machinery and tools, whilst we build our new Innovation Hub. Paul Beltrame will be leading our students in this very dynamic area.
Science Labs 1 and 3
Our Science Laboratories have also had a facelift in the holidays with the replacement of bench-tops and new student furniture.
We are committed to continually improving all areas of the College to enhance opportunities for our students.
We are very much looking forward to sharing our Year of Wonder with you. A year where we explore, enjoy, experiment and experience all that is on offer.
We thank you again for choosing Kildare. It is an absolute privilege working in partnership with you and your daughter so that together we can continue to provide an exceptional education for your daughter.
Thank you so much for your support.
