Brigidine Day

06 September 2024

Always a highlight of the College year; our annual Brigidine Day!
This special day is full of fun and fostering connections with each other. Beginning with Mass and followed by engaging activities and our very own K-Factor, a tradition enjoyed since 2008!
Our community also created lanterns as part of 'Ignite', a Student Leadership Team initiative supporting Wellsprings for Women, and engaged in a presentation by Dr Dalal Smiley, CEO of Wellsprings for Women. The lanterns created formed a beautiful collective artwork and we look forward to sharing the result with you next week!
More photos will be shared in our College Blog, released next week.

It was a wonderful occasion of friendly competition playing Dad vs Daughter games and to enjoy a barbecue together.
We wish everyone a wonderful Father's Day - we hope your Sunday is blessed, however you, and with whomever you spend the day.

Creative Industries Week saw our students engage in hands-on activities!
Students created their own personalised ceramic magnets (Art), a piece of macrame jewellery (Metal Smithing and Jewellery Design), a propagation station (Woodwork), and experimented with Polaroids (Photography). We also did 'Chalk the Walk', decorating the College pathway, and enjoying a Colouring in Competition.
Congratulations to Franceska (Year 7) who had her beautiful artwork featured on the poster promoting the week.

Years 7 and 12 Connections

26 August 2024

As our Class of 2024 enter their final weeks of Term 3 and lead up to the end of year celebrations, our Year 7 students hand made affirmation cards with words of encouragement for our Year 12 students.
This beautiful gesture, combined with an inter-house, Year 7 and 12 tunnel ball challenge, and a feast of sweets made it a memorable time of connection for all.

National Science Week

21 August 2024

National Science Week was celebrated last week at Kildare, culminating in our Year 12 students, Shamsieh, Pushti and Maddie participating in the South Australian Chemistry Titration Competition!
At Kildare, students engaged in activities that focused on 'Species Survival' including a scavenger hunt and whale snot analysis. At the titration competition, our students had to titrate potassium hydrogen phthalate (KHP) against sodium hydroxide to determine the number of moles of KHP in an unknown sample. Shamsieh received a gold award with only 0.2% error. Pushti received silver with an error of 1.2% and Maddie also received silver with an error of 1.5%.To receive a gold award students had to get under 1% error which indicates great accuracy in their technique. Congratulations!
