Hosted by the Alliance of Girls' Schools Australasia, our Years 11 and 12 Student Leaders attended 'Women in Politics', focusing on the role of women in parliament, with an emphasis on the importance of how women can use their voice to shape a future for the vulnerable. We also welcomed to Kildare College, Old Scholar, Olivia Savvas MP for Newland, to present to our Year 8 students regarding the importance of advocacy for change and being active in the democratic process.
Congratulations to Khyleesha and Tara who were presented with their Year 12 Certificates of Completion at the Year 12 Aboriginal Celebration at Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute. It was a special event, especially as Khyleesha was a guest speaker and presented beautifully. Well done Tara and Khyleesha, we are so proud of you.
During Term 3, students demonstrated House spirit and competed in our Interhouse Netball Tournament! Held during lunchtimes, it was a great way for students to be active and support each other through teamwork. Well done to all who participated and congratulations to Delany who won the Grand Final.
Year 4 students from St David's, Athelstone and Dernancourt Primary visit Kildare! Our partner primary schools' students developed new skills by engaging in an interactive, hands-on STEM workshop led by the Year 9 STEM Leaders and created their own healthy scrolls in our contemporary kitchens.
Rise and shine...it's House breakfast time! Across Term 3, students have enjoyed breakfasts together with a selection of pastries, yoghurt, fruit and juice. These occasions are a great way for our community to connect and build House spirit.
The Official Opening and Blessing of our Innovation Hub, the Tullow Centre, was a wonderful intimate celebration. The event begun with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country followed by speeches, performances, blessings and a video presentation of the Tullow Centre journey. The Tullow Centre begins the next chapter for Kildare College with a point of difference for an all girls' education.
The rain didn't keep the fun away for our annual Brigidine Day! One of the highlights of the year for our College community, this day is filled with activities, a Mass, and ends with our K Factor which has been a community favourite since 2008.
It was a pleasure to welcome Madonna King, accomplished parenting author to our College, who presented an insightful session on supporting young women into adulthood. Over 120 guests attended the session, taking away a multitude of strategies to equip themselves to meet the current needs of their daughters.
Arrive in your best country get up. Kick up your boots and dance. Experience a western world and give this exciting night a chance! Everyone fulfilled the criteria for our Years 10 and 11 Barn Dance.
Happy Father's Day! It was wonderful to have our students, their fathers, grandfathers and other significant father figures join us for our Father's Day breakfast, ready for Father's Day on Sunday.
