We welcomed families back to Kildare for our Academic Awards Assembly where we celebrated the achievements of our Class of 2022 and Semester 2 Academic and Endeavour Award recipients in Years 8-11.
The first day of secondary school is a significant milestone, and we were delighted to welcome our new students and their families today.
Our Living Justice | Living Peace Group, Environmental and Enlight Group were active in the community last year.
Most recently, the Living Justice | Living Peace Group had the privilege to participate in a public forum, organised by Vinnies on child poverty in South Australia. Our students opened the forum with an Acknowledgement of Country and contributed to discussions at the event.
Our Environmental Group and Enlight Group ventured to Frahn's Farm, a unique 550-hectare property managed by BioR, to work with Ecologist David Paton. They banded and fed woodland native birds, which allows individuals' birds life to be tracked over time. This enabled our students to further their knowledge on conservation in Australia.
We are proud to be listed in The Advertiser as an affordable College.
Careful financial planning, state-of- the-art facilities and excellence in education provides students with many opportunities and experiences, so they can find their place and achieve success.
Sisters, Eva (Year 8 ) and Lilli (attending Kildare in 2024) are pictured representing Kildare.
Congratulations to our Year 10 student Lara, who was awarded the Junior Citizen of the Year at the Port Adelaide Enfield 2023 Australia Day Awards. The criteria for this award; demonstrate their dedication to their community and their education, demonstrate a sense of caring and responsibility for others, inspire others and act as a role model to their peers.
Lara is pictured with Hannah Evans - Klemzig Ward, City of Port Adelaide Enfield who says, "Such big achievements...brave individual - spreading positivity and helping young people through her own experiences".
Lara was awarded for her work, through her business 'Just to let you know you're not alone', a social enterprise that supports those struggling with eating disorders.
We are delighted to see our Old Scholar Macie (Class of 2020) in The Advertiser's SA Weekend! Macie shares her story as a professional dancer, and while the past few years have brought challenges, this hasn't halted her determination. Her next adventure - a six-month contract with Celebrity Cruises! Congratulations and good luck Macie!
Towards the end of last year, our 2023 College Captains, Jessica and Zahra, travelled to Melbourne for the Kildare Ministries Leadership Retreat. They worked with other 2023 Captains from Kildare Ministries Schools to make connections, reflect on leadership and develop skills and strategies for the year ahead.
Our Year 11 Design students have excelled in applying the skills of creativity and imaginative thinking as they successfully completed the challenge to design and make an adornment out of paper.
Students devised their own design brief with clear design intentions, along with their source of inspiration. These varied from Japanese culture, bird skulls, music albums and favourite movies to name a few.
Students investigated the best types of paper and folding techniques to make their vision a workable and practical piece.
Our 2023 student leaders gathered early in December to unpack what it means to be a leader and begin to develop a vision for 2023. Topics included women in leadership, the challenges of being a leader and the opportunity to reflect on themselves as a leader.
Well done to Year 7 student Aizure for her achievements in Touch Football this year.
Aizure was selected for the State U12's Touch Football Team and travelled to Wagga Wagga to compete. Through many hurdles, including the floods - the outcome of the experience was positive, winning the final game against Victoria.
Aizure, being captain of her team is proud to have had the opportunity to play Touch Football and make new connections along the way.
