Year 9 student Emily Worley competed at the Athletics SA State Championships. She came 1st in the U15 2km steeplechase with a time of 8:30.69 which was a 22 second personal best (pb) time. Emily only started competing in the steeplechase event this season. The steeplechase involves hurdling a total of 18 steeples and going through a water jump five times.
Based on this result, Emily was selected to be a member of the Athletics SA State team which was due to compete at the 2020 Australian Track and Field Championships in Sydney.
