From dressing up to parading around the Brigidine Centre, the students had a wonderful time celebrating National Book Month with a Book Week Parade. The theme for this year’s parade was “Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds”. It was amazing to see the huge variety of costumes of everyone’s favourite book characters. A huge congratulations to the best-dressed students this year, and to all students for their efforts and creativity:
The National Book Month activities continued with a MARVEL Avengers themed quiz in Week 2. The students had a great time participating in a lunchtime quiz with lots of yummy prizes to be won! It was wonderful to see students from all year levels bonding over their love of superheroes.
Spring cleaning isn’t just for home! The Resource Centre Volunteers have been helping to weed and sort through our non-fiction books. Many books were chosen to be donated to a wonderful cause – Books for Lesotho – an Adelaide-based non-profit organisation dedicated to developing libraries for schools in Lesotho, Africa. The books will be going to an amazing cause, and will help students in Lesotho with their English literacy skills and harbour a love of reading. A huge thank you to the Resource Centre Volunteers for all their incredible efforts in supporting this cause.
