Last week, we had the absolute pleasure in watching our Year 9 debating team in action for the final time this year at Nazareth Catholic College.
Debating against Mount Carmel College, Abby Jones, Katya Zirnsak and Kavishi Alles did a sterling job stating their case that the “Julie Bishop Barbie doll sends the wrong message.” They effectively demonstrated their debating skills by speaking confidently, think clearly and spontaneously when rebutting, and providing a succinct persuasive speech in an assertive and poised manner.
With a double win for Kildare, we comfortably won the debate, as well as Katya Zirnsak (our third speaker), receiving the best overall debater for the evening.
Furthermore, we ranked 22nd out of 44 teams on the Debating SA ladder. A great way to finish off the debating season for 2021. Well done girls – we are super proud!
