In Year 9 Science students are obtaining data on how much energy is transferred from plants to herbivore (caterpillar). From the data, graphs will be generated comparing the mass of plant eaten versus lava mass. Students will then be able to determine the energy loss that occurs between feeding levels in eco systems.
From this laboratory, students will gain a much greater understanding of how eco systems function in a hands on and engaging manner.
