Girls Achieve Day

05.02.20

Our students began their school year with the annual Girls Achieve Day. The purpose of the day is for students to reconnect with existing classmates, form connections with new peers, and develop relationships that will support students throughout the year ahead.

The day began with all students gathering in their Pastoral Care classes. New Year 7 and Year 8 students met the older students in their Pastoral Care class who will no doubt play a huge role in their transition into the College. Students also had the opportunity to reconnect with their Pastoral Care Teacher, and for several students, this also involved welcoming a new teacher to the College.

We gathered as a community for an assembly and liturgy which provided the perfect opportunity to introduce and reflect on the 2020 Core Value, ‘Justice – making the needs of the vulnerable paramount’, a particularly poignant theme after the devastating summer experienced by our country.

Students met in their year levels to engage in some light-hearted competition. ‘Minute to Win it’ and ‘Dodgeball’ were a highlight of the afternoon, whilst the Year 12 students settled into their Retreat experience.

Girls Achieve Day again proved to be the perfect foundation for the beginning of the year.
