Throughout 2019, Year 9 STEM Leaders have held many interactive workshops at partner Catholic Primary Schools. We recently visited St Martin’s Greenacres Year 4 students to assist with making a kaleidoscope from scratch that exhibited patterns inspired by feelings and emotions.
After engaging with the Engineering Design Process, students marvelled in their personalised creations, while learning about the key concepts of light, reflection and symmetrical patterns.
The STEM Student Leaders also got to see some familiar faces and catch up with the Year 1 students that they had assisted with a Stomp Rocket competition, and the Year 6 students that they had assisted with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing earlier in Term 3.
