Caritas Australia supports long-term development programs in impoverished communities in Africa, Asia, Indigenous Australia and the Pacific. They help oppressed people to rediscover their dignity by taking greater control over their lives and overcoming poverty.
Project Compassion is the organisation’s annual Lenten fundraising and awareness raising appeal. It is an extraordinary, ongoing demonstration of the faith, love and generosity of the Catholic congregation and caring supporters throughout Australia to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.
This year, Kildare College extended the campaign as students took part on the annual Kildare K’s House competition.
Project Compassion demonstrates how we can work together as a community for a just future.
The Justice and Democracy Team continued to promote Kildare K’s in 2019 to encourage students to take part and inspire friendly competition between the Houses with each Pastoral Care group coming together to go about it in their own unique way with a combined total of $2204.70 being raised.
As an act of solidarity, representatives from each House completed a 1km run in the Brigidine Centre earlier this term.
Thank you for your continued support.
